I have been assigned to work with other engineers and researches to enhance the effectiveness of light wave transmission, manage sharing, and exchange of data and information across the internet. The major executives who were involved with the project left the company by using buyout packages, because of which, the benefits of conducting the project were known to very limited numbers of people (Hagedoorn and Wang 2012). One of the contingencies of power could be the substitutability that would allow me to check among multiple options and gain control on the resources that should be required for continuing with the project. With the increase in alternative sources, the power would decrease and this would prove my leadership skills to control the entire team properly for accomplishing the goals and objectives related to the project. I could use the computerized systems, promote technological innovations for improving the communication between the team members, and facilitate the discussion about the project related aspects (Wood et al. 2012). Because of being a part of the project and having worked with other researchers and engineers, my power should be invisible though would create positive impact on the organizational outcomes. With the leadership power and skills, I would allow the team members to work as an unit and gain clear understanding about how the goals and objectives could be achieved to foster light wave transmission.
